How do I turn the Nextmug On and Off and set the temperature for drinking my beverage?
All Nextmug products work the same by pressing the Control Button (immediately under the Nextmug logo on the product) as follows:
- Press once to turn your Nextmug On - this will also set the mug to the “Warm” setting (130 degrees)
- Press twice to turn your Nextmug to the “Hot” setting (140 degrees)
- Press a third time to set your Nextmug to the “Piping” setting (150 degrees)
- Press a fourth time to turn your Nextmug Off
How do I track the temperature of my beverage in the Nextmug?

What temperature should I choose for my beverage?
This is strictly based on personal preference and may take some experimentation to see exactly where you prefer to drink your hot beverage. Most people tend to prefer their coffee at between 130 degrees (the Nextmug’s “Warm” setting) and 140 degrees (the “hot” setting). However, some people prefer truly hot coffee or tea, so that’s where the 150 degrees “piping” setting should be used. We chose 150 degrees as the highest setting because coffee experts say that drinking your coffee much over 150 degrees causes you to not be able to taste the flavor of the beverage. The best advice is to try your beverage in the Nextmug at different temperature settings and see where your perfect flavor profile is.
Is there an ideal temperature in which to pour my beverage into the Nextmug?
For best results, pour your beverage from your brewing/dispensing device into the Nextmug at or above your selected temperature setting. The Nextmug will then automatically calibrate your beverage to the precise temperature that you have selected on the mug (warm, hot or piping) and then hold the temperature at that level. Microwaving your coffee is frowned upon by many coffee drinkers because it changes the flavor profile of the coffee…and the Nextmug will eliminate your having to use the microwave to reheat your beverage.
Will the Nextmug affect the taste of my beverage
The Nextmug will only enhance the taste of your beverage in that it will hold your desired temperature without having to reheat it – which can cause the flavor profile to change.
What about using dairy products in my beverage?
The Nextmug has been designed to accommodate all types of beverages and contents, so dairy products will taste fine if dispensed into the mug. Please note that if you use dairy products in your coffee (milk, half and half, creamers, etc.), you may experience a “skin” that develops on your coffee after being in the mug for a prolonged period of time. If this happens, it is due to the fat content in the dairy product staying at a high temperature for a long period of time. While there is nothing wrong with this “skin” and it doesn’t affect the taste of your coffee, it can be eliminated by just scooping it off after it forms. We also recommend use of a coffee aerator or “frothing” device to add air to the dairy product – plus it makes the beverage taste great.

How should I use the lid?
For the Nextmug and the Nextmug Plus, a Spill-Resistant Everyday Lid is included. The Nextmug Go includes a specially designed No-Spill Travel Lid to ensure that your hot beverage stays warm and in your mug while you’re on the go. The Nextmug Ultra includes both the Spill-Resistant Everyday Lid and the No-Spill Travel Lid. Of course use of the lids is optional, but we do recommend using a lid whenever your Nextmug is “on the go” with you. Another benefit of using the lid is that it will keep your beverage warmer for a longer period of time when your mug is not on the Docking Coaster.
How long will the Nextmug keep my drink warm?
How does the Auto Shut-Off function work?
If your Nextmug is On, but liquid is not present, all lights will blink simultaneously for about 10 seconds and then the mug will shut off automatically after 60 seconds.
If your Nextmug is On and liquid is present, the Nextmug will automatically shut off when it has not been moved for 2 hours while docked.

What does it mean when the lights on my Temperature Progress Bar are blinking?
What is the best way to clean the Nextmug, Docking Coaster and Spill-Resistant Lid?
For the Nextmug, hand wash with warm water and soap after every use. Be sure not to submerge the Nextmug in water and be sure it is dry before placing it back on the docking coaster. We also recommend occasionally wiping down the docking coaster with a damp cloth. Be sure to use a soft cloth when cleaning the inside and outside of the mug so as not to scratch the surface. Whichever Nextmug product you have, it is important that both the Nextmug and the docking coaster be fully dry when you place the mug on the coaster to avoid corrosion, which may affect the connectivity between the two (and charging capability).
All Nextmug lids are dishwasher safe. For the Nextmug Press, the Plunger & Filter is dishwasher safe.
Can I put the Nextmug in the dishwasher or the microwave?
No. You should handwash all Nextmug products and avoid putting them in the dishwasher because of “smart mug” technology that sits within the Nextmug. The Nextmug should also never be placed in the microwave (there is no reason for it to go in the microwave because the mug will hold the temperature of your beverage, so you won’t have to warm it up).

Our Fulfillment Center operates 5 days per week (except holidays), and even more frequently on peak volume days (often during the holiday season). As soon as your order is placed, it will go into a processing queue and will be prepared for shipping in the order in which it was received. We aim to ship on the same day your order was placed – and ship the majority of our orders within 1 business day. What is your warranty policy?
All Nextmug products are products of Nextboom, Inc. Nextboom, Inc. warrants solely to the original purchaser/user that Nextmug products shall be free of defects in materials or workmanship for one (1) year from the date of original purchase from an authorized retailer.
